Closure Schedule for I-710 Repaving and Bridge Widening Project
VERNON, COMMERCE - The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will be closing several lanes and ramps of Interstate 710 (I-710) in the cities of Vernon and Commerce for a road repaving and bridge widening project. Residents and local businesses located near the freeway may experience noise, vibrations and dust associated with construction activities.
The following work schedule will be indefinite, Monday through Friday, until further notice:
Northbound and southbound I-710 - Day Closures (9 a.m. to 3 p.m.)
- Up to two lanes from Atlantic Blvd. to I-5 will be closed
- Atlantic Blvd./Bandini Blvd. on and off-ramps
- Washington Blvd. on and off-ramps
Northbound and southbound I-710 (7 p.m. to 6 a.m.)
- Up to three lanes from Atlantic Blvd. to I-5 will be closed
- Atlantic Blvd./Bandini Blvd. on and off-ramps
- Washington Blvd. on and off-ramps
- Northbound I-710 to northbound I-5 connector (11 p.m. – 5 a.m.)
- Northbound I-5 to northbound I-710 Connector (11 p.m. – 5 a.m.)
Some closures may start and end later. All closures are weather permitting and subject to change. Motorists can check traffic conditions before they leave by visiting the Caltrans Quickmap.
The work on I-710 is part of a $150.7 million pavement rehabilitation and bridge widening project that stretches 3.7 miles from Bell to East Los Angeles.
Caltrans reminds drivers to be “Work Zone Alert” and to “Slow for the Cone Zone.”

COMMERCE WAY IMPROVEMENT PROJECT
CONSTRUCTION NOTICE
Issued: December 6, 2022
The City of Commerce will be rehabilitating Commerce Way between Sheila Street and Washington Blvd to include the following improvements:
- Construction of new concrete curb and gutter, ADA curb ramps, sidewalk
- Landscape median
- Street lighting
- New asphalt pavement, pavement marking and striping
The project location map is shown below:
It is anticipated that the work will begin on December 6, 2022 and completed by May 2023. Working hours will be from 7 am to 4 pm.
NO PARKING signs will be posted 48 hours in advance, and on-street parking will be impacted during the above dates and hour. Every effort will be made to minimize inconvenience to all affected properties.

Caltrans to Close I-710 Washington Blvd Ramps in Commerce for Five Months
Commerce - The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) announces a five-month closure of ramps on northbound and southbound Interstate 710 (I-710) in the city of Commerce for a road resurfacing and bridge widening project.
The following ramps are scheduled to close in January 2020:
- Northbound I-710 Washington Blvd off-ramp
- Beginning Monday January 6, 2020.
- Southbound I-710 Washington Blvd on-ramp
- Beginning Monday January 13, 2020 OR Monday January 20, 2020.
The closures will allow crews can work on the bridge widening. Workers will be removing a bridge barrier and connecting the new structure with the current bridge. Crews also will repave the two ramps.
Motorists will be detoured to the Atlantic Blvd. on and off-ramps for the duration of the long-term closure. Drivers can check traffic conditions before they leave by visiting the Caltrans Quickmap.

Traffic Signal Installation
Motorists are being advised that there will be traffic and congestion during the installation of a traffic signal on Washington Blvd. and the ARCO gas station entrance and Bank of the West entrance.
The project is expected to be completed in October and will help alleviate traffic in the area.
