The City has contracted with HdL Companies to provide assistance to the business community for all business license needs.

Apply, renew, search for a business, pay an outstanding business license balance, or close a business.

Any person or entity who conducts any business, trade, profession, enterprise, establishment or occupation within the city shall obtain a license whether or not the physical business address is in or outside of the City. These include, but are not limited to:

• Apartment owners renting four or more units
• Businesses located within the City such as retail stores, wholesalers, manufacturers and service providers
• Businesses, which are located outside the City, but transact business in the City such as contractors, cleaners, repair people, gardeners
• Commercial/Industrial rental property owners
• Home-based businesses
• Independent contractors such as doctors, hairdressers, janitors
• Ice cream, produce, bakery and catering trucks

Certain businesses may require other permit approvals in addition to filing a business license application and payment of the business license tax.

A BUSINESS LICENSE DOES NOT PERMIT BUSINESS OPERATION UNLESS YOUR BUSINESS IS PROPERLY ZONED AND/OR IN COMPLIANCE WITH ALL APPLICABLE LAWS/REGULATIONS.
