The Code Enforcement Division ensures that all of the City’s residential and industrial areas are consistent with community standards and with the Commerce Municipal Code. Code Enforcement works cooperatively with residents, businesses, law enforcement and other agencies to maintain a quality environment for all who live and work in Commerce.

The Code Enforcement Division administers the following programs:

• Spring Clean-Up: This program provides residents with drop-off collection sites for the disposal of unwanted items and trash free of charge.
• Halloween Home Decorations Contest: Every year, residents decorate their homes for Halloween and enter this fun contest. Judging is done in each of the city's four neighborhoods.
• Christmas Home Decorations Contest: Residents who decorate the outside of their homes for Christmas are encouraged to enter this contest. Judging is done in each of the city's four neighborhoods.
