The Problem
Motor oil poured onto the ground, into storm drains or in the trash (even in a sealed container) can contaminate and pollute soil, groundwater, streams, and rivers and it's illegal. Storm drains lead straight to the ocean.
One gallon of used oil can contaminate a million gallons of drinking water with metals like lead, magnesium, copper, zinc, chromium, cadmium, and arsenic. Used motor oil accounts for more than 40% of the total pollution of our nation's harbors and waterways.

The Solution
Protect the environment, conserve a valuable resource and get paid for it. If you change your own oil, you can help reduce pollution by draining it into a clean spill-proof container and take it and oil filters to a California State Certified Collection Center for recycling.
Do not mix motor oil with other fluids such as antifreeze, solvents, gasoline or water.
