The City of Commerce Public Safety Division is focused on crime prevention through several citywide programs. This includes Neighborhood Watch, Business Watch, and Vacation Watch.
Business Watch Program
In partnership with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, Public Safety can coordinate meetings with groups of businesses or individually to offer tips and ideas to help prevent crime. Follow these tips to help reduce crime and keep your property and employees safe:
- Install security cameras
- Have exterior lighting around the property (motion sensor lighting works great!)
- Inform your employees to contact LASD Dispatch to report suspicious people or crimes in progress. For active crimes dial 911 and to report parking issues or suspicious people call 323-264-4151
Contact us to schedule a Business Watch meeting or to request extra patrols at (323) 887-4460 Monday-Thursday 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM.
Neighborhood Watch Program
The City of Commerce Public Safety Division hosts Neighborhood Watch meetings citywide on a monthly basis. Each month, the meeting is rotated to a different neighborhood or in response to an increase in concerns. At these meetings, Public Safety and LASD discuss crime prevention, reporting crimes, camera rebate program, and invite guest speakers from other departments or agencies.
Contact us if you would like to schedule a meeting in your neighborhood or if you are interested in being a Block Captain – Justin Edson (323) 887-4460.
