The City of Commerce is located six miles from downtown Los Angeles and offers excellent freeway and rail access to the 1,800 businesses based in the city. A Metrolink Train Station in Commerce makes it easy for employees to commute by rail from Orange County. The Montebello/Commerce Metrolink Station on the City's northwest border, linking Commerce with the Inland Empire, opened in 1997.
