Free Tax Help for Qualified Residents

If your annual income is generally $56,000 or less, you may qualify to receive help preparing your tax return for free under the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program. In order to qualify for this program, you must:

Earn low to moderate income; or

Be disabled; or

Not speak English well; or

Be a senior citizen

VITA volunteers are IRS-certified and provide free basic income tax return preparation with electronic filing for individuals.

English and Spanish speaking volunteer VITA tax preparers are available at the Mexican American Opportunity Foundation (MAOF), located at 5657 E Washington Boulevard. Appointments are required at this location and can be made by calling 323-890-1559.
